The primary goal of this renovation was to make a 20-year-old bathroom more accessible for its aging owners. With limited space and no structural changes possible, we focused on enhancing safety, functionality and aesthetics.
We designed an open-access shower with no door, using a nib wall for stability and safety, and installed sleek grab rails – including a thoughtful hand shower on a variance grab rail for versatility. The toilet suite was also updated to a raised back-to-wall style with a grab rail beside it for added support.
Custom cabinetry was explored to increase storage, with large drawers and face-level cupboards – making access easy, without excessive bending. We opted for a clean, neutral aesthetic with a warm grey colour palette, featuring stone-coloured floor tiles (P3 rated for slip resistance), white wall tiles with grey veins, and complimenting cabinetry with a bold linear grain.
The addition of a sliding door vastly improved circulation space in the room – with the overall design ensuring practicality and style, creating a functional, accessible, and timeless space.
Perth TLC Group are proud to announce that this stunning renovation was a finalist in the 2024 KBDi Awards in the All Bathrooms WA category, highlighting its outstanding design and execution.
