We were tasked with modifying a kitchen to better suit our client’s wheelchair needs, and we were thrilled to deliver a solution that significantly improved their daily life.

Our team carefully considered every aspect of the design, ensuring the kitchen was not only functional but also fully accessible. We lowered the base cabinets to accommodate wheelchair use, repositioned power points for easier reach, and incorporated thoughtful design elements like tall kickboards, and a benchtop overhang to provide space for meals and computing. Additionally, we improved storage by replacing doors with drawers for easier access.

To enhance safety, we wrapped the sink pipes with protective pads to prevent scalding, and a side-mounted tap to the sink for improved and safer accessibility. With careful attention to detail, we selected complementary splashback tiles, flooring, and paint, ensuring the kitchen stayed both cohesive and within budget. This transformation not only meets our client’s needs but also enhances the overall functionality and aesthetic of the space.
