This renovation, guided by recommendations from an occupational therapist, was all about creating a safer and more accessible bathroom for an aged care client. By removing the awkward shower-over-bath configuration and a nib wall, we were able to improve access to the toilet while designing a space that prioritised safety and independence.
The updated bathroom features a walk-in shower with a long channel waste for efficient drainage, complemented by non-slip flooring for added safety and confidence. Strategically placed grab rails, including a hand shower on a grab rail, ensures ease of use, while the raised toilet seat and wall-mounted basin, designed with ample space underneath, provide seamless accessibility for seated users. A convenient ledge was thoughtfully added to provide additional storage, offering a practical yet stylish solution.
